Rethinking Public Health Education for the 21st Century
Under the leadership of dean of the faculty Dr. Julio Frenk, the School is engaged in a multi-year, educational strategic planning process known as the “Roadmap to 2013.” This educational strategy and implementation process will guide the “next century” in teaching and learning at the Harvard School of Public Health and will help define the future direction of higher education in public health. The Roadmap Initiative emerges in part from the work of the Global Independent Commission Report co-chaired by Dean Frenk and Dr. Lincoln Chen, which has been translated into six languages since its release in December 2010.
Input and active participation from our alumni is an essential part of the Roadmap Initiative and we welcome your involvement. The Roadmap Initiative will be the centerpiece of the 2013 celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the Harvard-MIT School for Health Officers, the first professional training program of public health in America and direct descendent of our School.
If you have questions about the Roadmap Initiative or would like to be involved, contact Dr. Ian Lapp, Associate Dean for Strategic Educational Initiatives (email@example.com or 617-955-7222).
